The seed for Empowering Edmontonwas planted years ago when two long time friends agreed that their careers would one day bring them together to a common purpose. Although Wayne Lee and Jim Yih have very different business backgrounds, they had the same underlying passion to help others though their speaking careers. Wayne was an entertainer, a hypnotist with a message. Jim was a financial guru who was respected for his columns, books and workshops on money and retirement.
Jim and Wayne, both born and raised Edmontonians, not only are accomplished speakers and business people but they both have a passion to educate, entertain and inspire others to a better life. Over the past 5 years, they have sketched an idea or concept of an event that would give people hope, health and happiness.
On November 16, 2010, their concepts will become reality when the Coast Edmonton Plaza becomes the host to a grassroot event where 5 local speakers come together to give back to the community they live in and love. All speakers are donating their time and services so 100% of proceeds go to Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta.

Last years event was a great success. It was the the first year for the event and everything exceeded expectation. We are so excited to follow up and build on the success of last year and improve every aspect of the event.
